Starship Valkyrie is a science-fiction, military crisis simulator and role-playing game created in 2010 by Christian Brown, with stories set within the Praezorian Wars in the starfaring 2150s. It combines elements of crisis simulator, live-action roleplaying, board gaming and tabletop gaming to create a multimodal live experience. Players work cooperatively as members of a single starship, in five different sections, to fight a separate enemy run by the game masters. Valkyrie would not exist without its dedicated core of players and beta readers, and their contributions are always taken into account and valued as part of the ethos of Valkyrie world and content creation.
In 2013, Robert Prag began writing Valkyrie scenarios, followed by T.A. Leederman in 2014, when they became a writing team. In 2015, T.A. Leederman created the wiki and began managing the central lore, building out the Pollux Corridor for the Gryphon storyline and assisting Christian Brown with central Valkyrie worldbuilding. In 2022, after many years GMing games, contributing to and helping build out the Valkyrie world, Robert Prag and T.A. Leederman bought and took over Starship Valkyrie IP, and they have since been working on a new and improved ruleset for the role-playing game. T.A. Leederman also writes science-fiction action, science-fiction romance, and science-fiction mystery/thriller prose fiction within the Starship Valkyrie universe, often dramatizing events referred to or played out at live games.
Starship Valkyrie, as a crisis simulator/LARP, runs at Strategicon three times a year, and at private events (called "ships") in Southern California. There is a public Discord underway, as well as a newsletter to keep everyone updated with Valkyrie news. Exciting things are happening this year in the Valkyrie universe, so please join the newsletter, check out T.A. Leederman's sister site to keep track of the prose fiction, and remember....
